Adrian Cioflâncă is a researcher at the Romanian Academy’s A.D. Xenopol Institute of History and board member of the National Council for the Study of the Securitate Archives (CNSAS). He participated in the International Commission of the Holocaust in Romania and the Presidential Commission for the Analysis of the Communist Dictatorship in Romania, co-authoring both commissions’ final reports. An expert of the archival records, his on-site investigations of massacres of Jews murdered in June and July 1941 led to the discovery of a number of killing sites and mass graves, such as in the Vulturi Forest and in Săbăoani, as well as in Mărculeşti (Moldova). Adrian Cioflâncă is a member of Romania’s delegation to the IHRA.
