From 3- 5 June, 2019, the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) will hold its first bi-annual Plenary Meeting under the Luxembourg Chairmanship in the town of Mondorf-les-Bains, where more than 150 experts and governmental representatives will meet to discuss the Holocaust as a contemporary political issue.

The meetings will be presided over by IHRA Chair, Ambassador Georges Santer.

The Plenary Meetings will focus, among other topics, on countering distortion and safeguarding the historical record. Over the four days, various sessions will be held to allow IHRA experts to advance IHRA’s current projects on memory lawssites at risk and recommendations on teaching and learning about the Holocaust.

The latest IHRA publication “Mass Murder of People with Disabilities and the Holocaust” will also be presented. This publication presents the results of the latest research on these murders in the German occupied territories, as discussed at an IHRA conference held in Bern in November 2017.

The IHRA unites governments and experts to strengthen, advance and promote Holocaust education, remembrance and research worldwide, and to uphold the commitments of the 2000 Stockholm Declaration.
