Report Summary

For the IHRA, 2020 was a year characterized by the challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which were felt across the globe. Many Holocaust survivors were affected directly, and memorials and museums found themselves in dire financial situations.

However, under the German Presidency, tangible progress was also achieved: among other milestones, the IHRA held its first virtual Plenary meetings, the non-legally binding working definition of antigypsyism/anti-Roma discrimination was adopted, and the Global Task Force against Holocaust Distortion published their first Recommendations.
