Spain benefits significantly from the expert knowledge which is easily accessible via the working groups of the IHRA. The most important achievements are clearly linked to Holocaust education and remembrance. The term “Holocaust” is now included in school curricula both on national and regional levels.

More and more remembrance events are taking place each year since the official establishment of 27 January as an official day of remembrance in 2004. Centro Sefarad-Israel is the institution which has been tasked to fulfil the commitment to the Stockholm Declaration. Its main objective is to promote the development of friendship and cooperation between Spanish society and the Jewish community, with special focus on sharing culture and on the values of coexistence based on the lessons arising from the tragedy of the Holocaust.
